Download YouTube videos using VLC

VLC(www.snipca.com/28726)is my favouriteprogram forwatching
videos andplaying musiconmyPC, but theprogram does so much more that’s hiddenbeneath thesurface.Reader Adrian Terry offered averyusefultip for listening to radiostations (see Issue531) on VLC, so IthoughtI’d addmyown tip forthe programthatlets youdownload YouTubevideos to watchoffline. First, go to YouTubeand copythe URL
of thevideoyou want to download.Next, open VLC, pressCtrl+N,paste theURL into thefield providedand clickPlayat thebottom. Nowpress Ctrl+J andcopy thelonglinkinthe Location field at the bottom.Next, open Google Chrome,paste thecopiedURL into thebrowser barand pressEnter to play thevideoinyour browser. To download it,click thethree dots at thebottomright, then click Download.
